Dr. K. Kalaiselvan, Principal of Sri Ranganathar Institute of Polytechnic College, is a distinguished academician, researcher, administrator, and industrial executive with over 25 years of professional experience. He completed his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Madras University, M.E. in Production Engineering from Annamalai University, and earned his Ph.D. from Anna University, Chennai.

His research contributions span areas such as processing of metal matrix composites, friction stir welding, metal additive manufacturing, 3D printing, experimental design, and optimization techniques. He has published around 35 papers in international journals, presented 27 papers in international conferences, and authored 3 book chapters. Under his guidance, four scholars have successfully completed their Ph.D. programs.

Dr. Kalaiselvan has actively coordinated NBA, NAAC, and Research & Development activities and served as a Member of the Board of Studies, Subject Expert Member, and Doctoral Committee Member for research programs. He received the GEE LIMITED Winning Award for Best Paper Presentation at the International Welding Symposium held in Mumbai.

He has secured grants from AICTE, CSIR, ISTE, and IWS for organizing National Level Short-Term Training Programs, Seminars, and Conferences. He is an Associate Member of CODISSIA and a Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education and the Indian Welding Society. He has also served as Organising Secretary for the Indian Welding Society (IWS), Southern Section, Coimbatore Chapter.

With a strong commitment to academic excellence, research advancement, and industry collaboration, Dr. Kalaiselvan continues to lead the institution toward innovation, quality education, and holistic student development.
